Hello, I'm Jaap
Saxophonist, teacher and repairer. My workshop in Alkmaar is a one-man business: I repair, overhaul and sell wind instruments, with the same attention with which I play myself.

In the late 1990s I learned the fundamentals of the traditional repair trade from the very best craftsmen. Since 2009 I have worked from my own workshop on the Kitmanstraat in Alkmaar.
In my workshop I carry out high-quality maintenance, from small mechanical adjustments to complete overhauls and ultrasonic cleaning.
Repair & OverhaulI have been playing myself since I was twelve
I had my first saxophone lessons in 1981 from Bert Baars. After the conservatory in Alkmaar and the Rotterdam Conservatory, I returned to Alkmaar in 1999 as a professional musician.
Since then I have played regularly with various big bands in Amsterdam and Alkmaar and perform with regional ensembles.
I know how it should sound
Because I play myself, I know how an instrument should feel and sound. I bring that to every repair, every overhaul and every instrument I sell.

Since 1999 I have been teaching beginners and advanced players at Saxofoonschool Alkmaar, with attention to sound, technique and improvisation.
To saxofoonschool.nlPersonal attention, always
My workshop is a one-man business. That means your instrument is handled by me, from the first appointment to the final adjustment, and you always deal directly with me.
Personal attention is not an extra service for me, but the way I work.
